LESCO Is Hiring Senior IT and Engineering Professionals for 2026

The Lahore Electric Supply Company, operating under WAPDA, has officially announced two senior-level vacancies for the year 2026. These are highly sought-after government positions for engineering and information technology professionals seeking a stable and prestigious career within Pakistan’s largest power distribution company serving the Lahore region.

The two positions — Assistant Manager Communication and Network at BPS-17 and Network Support Engineer at BPS-16 — are both based in Lahore City. Appointments will initially be made on a contract basis for two years with the possibility of regularization subject to satisfactory performance. What makes this opportunity particularly attractive is that candidates holding domicile from all provinces of Pakistan including Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, and AJK are all eligible to apply. Persons with disabilities are also specifically included in the eligible candidate pool.

The recruitment test will be conducted by the Official Testing Service and all applications must be submitted through the OTS portal at www.ots.org.pk before June 15, 2026. About Lahore Electric Supply Company LESCO

The Lahore Electric Supply Company is one of Pakistan’s largest and most operationally critical power distribution companies. Operating under the umbrella of WAPDA, LESCO is responsible for the distribution and supply of electricity to millions of consumers across Lahore city and surrounding areas of Punjab. It manages an extensive network of transmission lines, grid stations, distribution systems, and customer service centers that collectively serve one of South Asia’s most densely populated urban regions.

In recent years LESCO has been actively investing in modernizing its communication infrastructure, network management systems, and digital operations. The recruitment of an Assistant Manager for Communication and Network and a Network Support Engineer reflects this strategic direction. These are not routine administrative posts. They are technically demanding roles that will directly contribute to improving LESCO’s network reliability, communication systems, and digital service delivery for millions of electricity consumers across Lahore.

A career at LESCO combines the financial security of a government position with the technical stimulation of working on large-scale infrastructure that has real and visible impact on daily life across one of Pakistan’s most important cities. The possibility of contract regularization adds an additional dimension of long-term career security that makes these positions genuinely exceptional opportunities for qualified IT and engineering professionals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q 01I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. Am I eligible to apply or is a Master’s mandatory?
The advertisement clearly states that the minimum qualification for both positions is a Master’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering from an HEC recognized institution. A Bachelor’s degree alone does not meet the eligibility criteria for either the Assistant Manager BPS-17 or the Network Support Engineer BPS-16 position. You would need to complete your Master’s degree from a recognized institution before you can apply for these or similar LESCO positions in future recruitment cycles.
Q 02I am from Sindh. Can I apply for a position based in Lahore City and what domicile documents do I need?
Yes. LESCO has explicitly stated that candidates holding domicile from all provinces including Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, and AJK are all eligible to apply alongside Punjab domicile holders. You simply need to attach a valid and attested copy of your Sindh domicile certificate with your application package. If selected you would be posted in Lahore City and would need to be willing to relocate for the duration of your contract. Your domicile province does not affect the posting location which remains fixed at Lahore.
Q 03What does “regularizable on satisfactory performance” mean and how does the contract work?
The initial appointment is on a contract basis for two years. During this period your work performance will be evaluated by LESCO management against defined benchmarks and service standards. If your performance during the two-year contract period is assessed as satisfactory by the competent authority, you become eligible for regularization which means conversion from contract to permanent government service status. Regularization brings with it all associated permanent government employment benefits including pension rights, job security, and full service protections under applicable WAPDA service rules. There is no guarantee of regularization but it is a realistic and achievable outcome for strong performers.
